The Team

Organic farming requires significantly more manual work than traditional farming and we are blessed with a great team of colleagues with whom we have been working for many years. Here they are:

Gilles

Born and bred at Domaine de Querubi, Gilles is a man of many talents and very few words. He runs all things operational, masterminded the rebuild of Domaine Madrona, and has a CV that reads like an action movie: ex-paratrooper, mountaineer, paraglider, scuba-diver… and somehow still has time to be a trusted friend.

Juan-Jose

Grew up in Andalusia surrounded by olive trees, arrived in Querubi 15 years ago, and brought much-needed olive know-how with him. He’s a tractor whisperer, forest wrangler, and pruning perfectionist and is deeplyin love with our olive oil. Towering basketball player, beach devotee and now more French than Spanish.

Rudy

Locally born, joined us 7 years ago and never escaped. Lives on the farm, treats the trees with saintly care, and still finds time to hunt mushrooms, herbs, and mysterious insects. Also grows superb organic vegetables and can often be found at midnight in the orchards with a metal detector — possibly looking for treasure, possibly just avoiding bedtime.

Vitor

From Portugal, landed in France 15 years ago, joined us 6 years ago and is equally passionate about olive trees and concrete mixers. Always cheerful, even in the depths of winter, as long as he has had his mandatory 10 a.m. banana. He has made the worst morning coffee on the farm for over 6 years, but no one dares say a word.

Helene

Local roots, Andalusian heritage. Keeps both Querubi and Madrona households running like clockwork, handles local olive oil sales and wins everyone over with her fabulous cooking. A flawless host … until someone takes liberties and then beware.

Willem

From Holland, traded a corporate career for farm life, started Querubi, found peace and has been pretending to be patient ever since. Slightly obsessed with planning, catastrophically bad at admin, and still a mediocre cook, but at least his olive oil is superb.

Holly

From the UK, now in France for a decade and speaking French… most of the time. Runs international olive oil sales, social media and every other job we can think of. Surprisingly brilliant with tractors and diggers, dangerously good at making cocktails, best approached after 8 a.m.
